Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Welcome to Alex Auto Detailing. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website, enquiries, quotes, bookings and vehicle detailing services.
By using our website or booking a service with us, you agree to the terms that apply to your use of the website or the service you request. Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before proceeding with a booking.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian law.
1. About Alex Auto Detailing
Alex Auto Detailing provides vehicle detailing and related vehicle-care services in selected areas of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
In these terms, “Alex Auto Detailing”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the business operating this website. “You” and “your” refer to a website visitor, customer or person making an enquiry or booking.
Our services may include interior and exterior detailing, full car detailing, pre-sale detailing, cut and polish, paint protection, window tinting and specialist vehicle-care services, subject to availability and the particular services offered.
2. Use of Our Website
You agree to use our website lawfully and not to:
Use the website for fraudulent, misleading or unlawful purposes.
Interfere with the website’s operation, security or functionality.
Attempt to access restricted systems or information without authorisation.
Submit information you know to be false or misleading.
Upload malicious files or content that may compromise our systems.
We may take reasonable steps to protect the website and our business against misuse or security threats.
Website content is provided for general information. Although we aim to keep it accurate and current, service availability, prices, descriptions and other information may change.
3. Enquiries and Quote Requests
You may use our website or contact us directly to request a quote or enquire about a service.
When submitting an enquiry, please provide accurate and complete information relevant to your request, including your contact details, vehicle information, suburb and the work you would like performed.
Photographs may help us assess your vehicle’s condition and prepare an estimate. Any estimate based on photographs or a description is preliminary and may need to be confirmed after further assessment.
Submitting a quote request does not, by itself, guarantee that a booking has been accepted or that a particular appointment is available.
A booking is confirmed when we communicate our acceptance and the relevant service arrangements to you.
4. Service Availability and Coverage Areas
Our mobile services are available in selected areas of Melbourne. Availability may depend on your suburb, the requested service, vehicle type, appointment availability and practical access to the vehicle.
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee that we can service your location.
Please provide your suburb and any relevant access information when requesting a quote. We will confirm availability and any applicable travel-related charges, if relevant, before proceeding.
5. Service Descriptions and Inclusions
We aim to describe our services, packages and inclusions clearly on our website.
The work included in a service depends on the package selected and any additional work agreed with you before the service begins.
Unless expressly included in your confirmed quote, a service does not automatically include additional work such as extensive pet hair removal, severe stain treatment, mould remediation, heavy contamination removal, engine bay detailing, headlight restoration or specialist paint correction.
If you request additional work, we will explain the proposed work and any additional cost before proceeding.
Where a particular task is unsuitable because of the vehicle’s condition, material, finish or another relevant limitation, we will discuss the available options with you.
6. Pricing and Quotes
Prices displayed on our website are indicative of the services and vehicle categories described. Some services may be advertised with starting prices, while others require an individual assessment.
The final price may depend on factors such as:
Vehicle size and type.
Interior or exterior condition.
The severity of stains, contamination, odours or other issues.
Excessive pet hair, sand or other material requiring additional labour.
The condition of paintwork, glass, trim or other surfaces.
The scope and complexity of the requested service.
Any additional work you approve.
Where a quote is subject to inspection or further assessment, we will explain any material change to the proposed price and seek your agreement before carrying out the additional work.
You are not required to approve optional additional work simply because we recommend it.
Any applicable taxes, fees or other charges will be communicated as required by law. The amount payable will be based on the price and scope agreed for your booking.
7. Bookings and Appointments
Bookings are subject to availability and confirmation.
When arranging a booking, please ensure that the agreed date, time, service, vehicle and location details are accurate.
Please notify us as soon as reasonably possible if you need to change your appointment or update your contact, vehicle or location information.
Appointment times and estimated completion times may vary depending on the scope of work, vehicle condition, weather, access, safety considerations and other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If we need to change an appointment, we will communicate the change and discuss reasonable alternatives with you.
8. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Delays
If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking, please contact us as early as possible.
Any cancellation notice requirements, deposits, cancellation charges or rescheduling conditions that apply to a particular booking should be communicated to you before you agree to them.
We will not apply a cancellation charge that has not been properly disclosed and agreed where agreement is required by law.
If we need to cancel or reschedule because of severe weather, unsafe working conditions, vehicle access problems, equipment issues or another reasonable operational concern, we will contact you to discuss an alternative arrangement.
Any refund, deposit or other payment issue will be handled in accordance with the agreed booking terms and applicable law.
9. Customer Responsibilities Before a Service
To help us carry out the agreed work safely and efficiently, please:
Ensure the vehicle is available at the agreed location and time.
Provide accurate information about the vehicle’s condition and any known issues relevant to the service.
Remove valuables, cash, personal documents and other important belongings before the service.
Secure or remove items that may obstruct the agreed work.
Inform us of relevant damage, fragile components, previous repairs or known problems that could affect the service.
Arrange lawful and safe access to the vehicle and the agreed work area.
Please let us know in advance about special access restrictions, parking limitations or other conditions that could affect the appointment.
If the vehicle or work area is inaccessible or unsafe, we may need to delay, modify or reschedule the service after discussing the situation with you.
10. Vehicle Condition and Existing Damage
Vehicles may have existing scratches, paint defects, dents, cracked trim, damaged seals, loose components, worn materials, previous repairs or other conditions before a detailing service begins.
Where reasonably apparent, we may identify relevant pre-existing conditions before starting work.
Please disclose known issues that may affect the requested service, including delicate finishes, aftermarket modifications, failing paint, damaged upholstery, electrical issues, water leaks or previous coating and repair work.
Some defects may become more noticeable after dirt, grime, stains or surface contamination are removed. Their appearance after cleaning does not necessarily mean that the detailing service caused them.
However, this clause does not remove our responsibility for damage caused by our failure to exercise the care and skill required by law.
11. Results and Service Limitations
Detailing can improve the cleanliness, appearance and condition of many vehicle surfaces, but results depend on the vehicle’s starting condition, materials, age, previous treatment and the nature of the problem.
Unless a particular result has been expressly agreed and can reasonably be achieved, we do not guarantee that detailing will:
Remove every stain, scratch, swirl mark or paint defect.
Completely eliminate every odour, including deeply embedded or recurring odours.
Restore severely faded, damaged, cracked or deteriorated materials to a new condition.
Remove all mould or contamination where it has penetrated inaccessible materials or resulted from an unresolved moisture problem.
Restore damaged or deteriorated paintwork, coatings, glass, trim or upholstery to its original condition.
For specialist services such as cut and polish, ceramic coating, mould treatment, overspray removal and headlight restoration, we may need to assess the vehicle before confirming the likely outcome.
We will explain material limitations that we identify before proceeding where reasonably practicable.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
12. Paint Protection, Ceramic Coating and Window Tinting
Paint protection, ceramic coating and window tinting may involve additional preparation, installation, curing or aftercare requirements.
The specific inclusions, expected performance, maintenance requirements and any product-specific warranty will depend on the service and product agreed for your vehicle.
We will communicate relevant aftercare instructions where applicable. You are responsible for following those instructions, subject to your rights under applicable law.
Window tinting must comply with applicable Victorian requirements. The suitability and legality of a particular tint depend on the vehicle, window and applicable regulations.
We will not represent that a product or treatment provides a particular level of protection, durability or performance unless that representation is supported by the relevant product information or agreed service terms.
Any separate manufacturer or installer warranty will be subject to its stated terms and will not replace your statutory consumer rights.
13. Specialist Cleaning and Remediation Services
Certain services require additional care because of the condition of the vehicle or the materials involved. These may include mould removal, odour treatment, vomit or biological contamination cleaning, overspray removal, signage removal and engine bay detailing.
The appropriate treatment depends on the affected surfaces, severity, material compatibility and accessibility.
We may recommend an inspection or request photographs before providing a quote. Where the condition cannot be adequately assessed in advance, the scope and price may need to be reviewed with your agreement.
For mould, moisture or persistent odour issues, cleaning alone may not resolve an underlying leak, water intrusion, mechanical problem or contamination in inaccessible areas.
We do not provide mechanical repairs, structural repairs or other specialist services unless they are expressly included in an agreed service.
14. Access, Water, Electricity and Working Conditions
Some mobile detailing services may require suitable access to the vehicle and a safe, practical working area.
Any specific requirements for water, electricity, parking, ventilation or other facilities will depend on the service and the equipment used. We will communicate relevant requirements when arranging your booking.
Please advise us of access restrictions or conditions that could affect the work.
We may decline to begin or continue work where conditions create an unreasonable safety risk or make the agreed service impractical. We will discuss appropriate alternatives with you where possible.
15. Payments, Deposits and Outstanding Amounts
The applicable price, payment method, payment timing and any deposit requirements will be communicated when the booking is arranged.
You agree to pay the amount properly due for the agreed service in accordance with the payment terms communicated to you.
If a deposit is requested, its amount, purpose and applicable cancellation or refund conditions should be explained before you pay it.
Any payment dispute will be handled fairly and in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable law.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have to a refund, cancellation or other remedy under Australian Consumer Law.
16. Customer Feedback and Complaints
We want customers to be able to raise concerns about our services.
If you are dissatisfied with a service, please contact us promptly and describe the issue, including relevant photographs or other information where appropriate.
We may ask to inspect the vehicle or review the relevant circumstances so that we can understand the concern and determine an appropriate response.
We will consider complaints fairly and work with you to resolve them in accordance with our legal obligations.
Please do not assume that a concern must be resolved through a particular process before you can exercise a right available under applicable law.
17. Consumer Guarantees and Liability
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to remedies available under that law where a service fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee. Depending on the circumstances, these may include having a problem rectified, cancellation of a service contract, a refund for an unused portion or compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies a right, guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss arising solely from circumstances outside our reasonable control, or for conditions unrelated to our work. This does not exclude responsibility where we are legally responsible for the loss.
Any assessment of responsibility will depend on the facts, the agreed service and applicable law.
18. Intellectual Property and Website Content
Unless otherwise indicated, the website’s text, branding, graphics, design elements and other original content are owned by or used with permission by the relevant rights holder.
You may view and use website content for personal, non-commercial purposes relating to our services.

19. Third-Party Links and Services
Our website may include links to third-party websites, maps, review platforms, messaging services or other external resources.
These services are operated independently and may have their own terms, policies and availability.
We do not control independent third-party websites or guarantee that their content or services will always be available or accurate. Your use of those services is subject to their applicable terms.
This section does not exclude any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
20. Privacy
Our collection, use, storage and disclosure of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.
By submitting an enquiry or using our website, you acknowledge that personal information may be handled as described in that policy, subject to applicable law.
Please review our Privacy Policy for further information about quote requests, vehicle photographs, communications, cookies and requests to access or correct personal information.

21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions to reflect changes in our services, website, business practices or legal obligations.
The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
Changes to website terms do not automatically change the terms of a booking that has already been accepted. Any change to an existing booking will be handled in accordance with the agreement and applicable law.
22. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in Victoria, Australia, subject to any mandatory consumer protections or other laws that apply.
Nothing in these terms prevents a customer from exercising a right or seeking a remedy available under applicable law.
